Industrial Lab Technician
Recruiting Solutions is seeking an experienced Industrial Lab Technician for a reputable client in Kingstree, SC. The purpose of this position is to perform lab tests to determine the physical characteristics of all materials and ensure they meet the customer’s expectations. This is position ensures the Lab Tech I is working effectively, safely and makes all necessary judgment calls based on their experience and the quality standards.
Essential Job Functions
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Maintain 6S Program
- Set up test programs, adjust and operate lab equipment and instruments
- Test finished goods for all physical tests as defined by the MQC and quality instructions; including hydrulic conductivity, transmissivity etc.
- Calibrate all lab equipment done locally and maintain equipment log
- Test product samples for specificity conformance and release all rolls for shipment
- Ensure all 3rd party samples are packaged, and ready for shipment
- Must know how to use a cut knife to obtain test samples from rolls
- Manage the day to day issues with the quality lab
- Manage the retain sample storage area
- Generate quailty certs
Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience required
- 1 – 2 years of work experience in manufacturing, preferred
- Ability to speak, read and write English fluently
- Ability to enter data into ERP/ MRP system
- Ability to work in Microsoft Office
- Ability to read and interpret production schedules, instructions, and procedures
- Ability to follow instructions
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. unassisted
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, some simple multiplication and division) required working with product weights, lengths, etc.
- Ability to work in a plant environment with exposure to heat
- Works 12 hour shifts on a rotating shift basis
