IT Support Technician
Recruiting Solutions Inc. is seeking an experienced and dedicated IT Support Technician for an Engineering and Fiber Optic company. The IT Support Technician is responsible for providing technical assistance and support to employees with computer systems, hardware, and software issues. This includes troubleshooting problems, maintaining computer systems, installing and upgrading software, and ensuring the security and efficiency of IT systems.
- Technical Support:
- Provide first-level contact and convey resolutions to user issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity problems, including user access and component configuration.
- Prioritize and schedule problems. Escalate problems (when required) to the appropriately experienced technician.
- System Maintenance:
- Perform regular updates and routine system maintenance tasks.
- Set up new users' accounts and profiles and deal with password issues.
- Respond to and resolve help desk requests.
- Maintain an inventory of all equipment, software, and software licenses.
- Installation and Configuration:
- Install, test, and configure new workstations, peripheral equipment, and software.
- Maintain and upgrade existing computer systems and workstations.
- Document internal procedures.
- Maintain a database of IT-related incidents.
- Create and update technical documentation for end-users.
- Assist in ensuring that the IT environment is secure and that data integrity is maintained.
- Help in maintaining backups and recovery procedures.
- Train computer users in the use of new software and hardware.
- Conduct briefings and demonstrations for users to enhance system productivity.
- Continuous Learning:
- Stay current with system information, changes, and updates.
- Attend training workshops and read relevant IT publications.
- Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT support or a related area.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Linux.
- Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, and other tech products.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
