Medical Insurance Clerk
Recruiting Solutions is seeking a Medical Insurance Clerk for a reputable client in the Florence area. This candidate will be responsible for medical billing, medical claim filings and resolutions. This is a full time position Monday through Friday. Apply today to join a growing team!
Job Duties:
- Follow up with insurance plans for primary, secondary, and tertiary claims by phone and in writing. Responsible for obtaining payment for unpaid insurance claims by contacting insurance companies, referring physicians and medical billing offices for needed information.
- Review accounts receivable system and EOBs to resolve incorrect denials or underpayments.
- Process incoming correspondence.
- Answer and resolve inbound calls from patients and insurance carriers.
- Prepare appropriate claims documents required by each insurer.
- Submit, organize, and track all insurance claims filed.
- Follow up until payment is received and manage collection activities when necessary.
- Follow Company’s policies and procedures and report any compliance issues. Participate in Company educational offerings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School graduate.
- Basicunderstanding of ICD-9, CPT4 and coding concepts.
- Basic understanding of medical and insurance terminology.
- Efficient and accurate typing skills to include 10-key by touch.
- Seek advice and feedback in terms of priorities or issues.
- Minimum of 6 months experience in the health insurance industry.
- Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Maintain the strictest confidentiality.
